I am limited by chemotherapy infusions every twenty-one days and its resulting side effects, so I try to schedule brief trips on “good days” to visit friends and relatives semi-locally and out of state as well. I’m crossing items off my bucket list!
What inspired you to write Love Among the Lilacs?
An acquaintance and her son became homeless and slept for months on various people’s sofas. She finally moved into a studio apartment, and it started me thinking. “What if you were homeless, and found your perfect home, and someone tried to take it away?”
Lilacs count among my most favorite flowers, for their lush scent and vibrant blossoms. As I knew the book was scheduled for a Spring release, it was an easy choice.

From Homeless to Heartache…
Bookkeeper Mollie Wright knows how being homeless feels, and her purchase of Lilac Cottage in Grady Cove, New York from two sweet ladies is a dream fulfilled. She is determined to fight when their great-nephew questions her ownership before the ink has dried on the deed.
Attorney Sean Grady disapproves of his great-aunts selling their vacant cottage, and is unhappy when they close on the deal while he is out of town. After a legal error voids the sale, he moves swiftly to evict the new resident. Sean wants to relocate his elderly relatives back to Grady Cove at any cost. To his surprise and frustration, the feisty and attractive squatter refuses to leave.
Mollie finds unexpected allies in neighbors and a member of Sean's family, but knows the clock is ticking on her eviction, even as she and Sean grow closer. Will Sean boot this unwanted trespasser onto the street, or will they both realize that a real home is where your heart is?
Is there a message in this novel, that you want readers to grasp?
As intersecting stories unfold in Love Among the Lilacs, several characters in the book learn that forgiveness is a vital piece of our life experience.
Jenna, you're right. It's important to forgive, because through the act of our forgiving we free ourselves from the emotional trap that hurt and bitterness bonds us too.
Are you working on a new project that you can tell us about?
